As Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America stated to Wired.com, in average every Wii console that makes its way into a shop is sold after one hour!
One hour only and each single Wii unit has left the store!
Fils-Aime admits that they "are passionately upset about the lack of product relative to demand" - so are the potential buyers that still have a hard time getting hold of a Wii 17 months after the release in the US.
As he pointed out further Nintendo produces 1.8 million Wii consoles every month. About 40% of them are shipped to North America.
These numbers are huge but it can't be denied that Nintendos ability to miss great opportunities is outstanding.
Nintendo is in the situation every company is dreaming of: owning a product that people are crazy about and that sells like nothing else.
And they don't take care to get their potential customers satisfied.
This is even worse because the Wii is available in Europe without many problems although the demand is high.
So the question still is the same: "Where to buy a Wii?" |
