According to Nintendo of America the Wii Game Super Mario Bros. Brawl has become the fastest selling game for the Nintendo Wii ever.
It left behind sales of other highly successful Nintendo releases like Pokemon or Mario Games already.
Since March 8th Super Mario Bros. Brawl was sold 1.4 million times in the U.S. - that means 120 units are sold every minute!
Here is what the executive vice president of sales & marketing of Nintendo of America, Cammie Dunaway, is commenting:
“Super Smash Bros. Brawl has made the leap from video game to cultural phenomenon. Game reviewers and the public alike praise its run game play and extensive, inventive content.”
The sales numbers are impressive. No doubt about that.
But Nintendo expects these to be only the beginning as they are ready to ship their next bestsellers Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit quite soon.
