Nintendo Wii - The One-Hour Console

By Jason Widmore
As Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America stated to Wired.com, in average every Wii console that makes its way into a shop is sold after one hour!

One hour only and each single Wii unit has left the store!

Fils-Aime admits that they "are passionately upset about the lack of product relative to demand" - so are the potential buyers that still have a hard time getting hold of a Wii 17 months after the release in the US.

As he pointed out further Nintendo produces 1.8 million Wii consoles every month.
About 40% of them are shipped to North America.

These numbers are huge but it can't be denied that Nintendos ability to miss great opportunities is outstanding.

Nintendo is in the situation every company is dreaming of: owning a product that people are crazy about and that sells like nothing else.

And they don't take care to get their potential customers satisfied.

This is even worse because the Wii is available in Europe without many problems although the demand is high.

So the question still is the same: "Where to buy a Wii?"

Rock Band for Wii Is Coming on June 22nd

By Jason Widmore
Rock Band will be released for the Nintendo Wii on June, 22nd in the US and Canada.

That was announced by Harmonix, MTV Networks and Electronic Arts this Monday.

The package will be available for $ 169.99 and includes the game itself, a drum set, a microphone and a wireless guitar.

Rock Band will feature 63 highly popular rock songs but the online functionality, online play or downloadable content will not be implemented at the beginning.

As Harmonix stated, "However, because the Wii's online capabilities and potential have yet to be fully realized, we wanted to wait before we explored online functionality for Rock Band to ensure that players get the high-quality of online performance they've come to expect."

Nevertheless the developers are aiming an unique gaming experience and decided "to focus on getting the core gameplay on to the Wii and focus on making that awesome."

As Steve Singer, the licensing Vice President of Nintendo ads, "the social interaction and addictive nature of the Rock Band experience is a perfect fit for the Wii and will undoubtedly be fun for the entire family."

Rock Band is very successful for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation and one core factor is the extensive list of songs that can be purchased and downloaded.

Hopefully Nintendo doesn't wait too long to add this feature for the Wii version of Rock Band.
